Although our stain manufacturers provide coating warranties, it is possible you may have to refinish your wood siding or shingles prior to the warranty periods. Check to see if the coating system you're purchasing is backed by a coating warranty, not all coating systems we offer are backed by a coating warranty. Many factors that affect the longevity of a finish are beyond human control. Some factors that affect your wood siding's finish include:
- The proximity of your home to water (lake, pond, ocean, etc…)
- The amount of sun exposure your home receives
- The architectural design of your home
- The maintenance of and design of your water run-off system
- How materials are stored on site prior and during installation
Due to these factors we recommend the following:

It is a natural and unpredictable phenomenon that can occur on any wood siding or trim that contains tannin resins. Carefully following storage and installation instructions will help reduce the chances of this occurrence.

In the event of a finish defect in your wood siding product, the stain manufacturer will supply sufficient coating to refinish the affected areas. THIS IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY AND ALL LOSSES OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM FINISH DEFECTS.

THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEW OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF MECHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. If applicable state law does not permit disclaimer of the implied warranty that the product is fit for ordinary use, then, to the extent consistent with state law, that implied warranty is limited to one (1) year. No dealer, distributor, agent, representative of Cedar Shingles Direct or other person is authorized to make any representation or a promise of warranty concerning Cedar Shingles Direct products on behalf of the company except to refer the purchaser to the warranty.
Except as otherwise provided in the warranty detail, THE WARRANTIES EXLUDE ANY AND ALL DAMAGES, AND CEDAR SHINGLES DIRECT SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR PAYING INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. Such damages include, but are not limited to, costs associated with the delivery or application of the materials or repairs to the underlying structure, inconvenience, and the cost of repairing or replacing other property which is damaged because of any defect in materials. Some states to not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may apply to you.
